Wellness Exams
The main goal of the annual or bi-annual exam is prevention. I will thoroughly examine your pet from head to tail, peek in eyes and ears and explore every nook and cranny of their body. We’ll discuss any findings and decide if further diagnostics are needed, such as blood, urine and fecal screenings or other lab tests.
Nutritional Counseling
Simply put: food is life. Nutrition is the foundation of a healthy body. Western corporations want us to believe that dry kibble is the best diet for our pets, but fresh, whole foods work best for us, and they’re best for our pets, too. I will work with you to make modifications to your pet’s diet as best fits their needs and your budget.
Vaccinations
While vaccines are important, not every pet needs every vaccine. We’ll discuss your pet’s needs based on their risk level and use vaccine titers when necessary. In the rare event of a vaccine reaction, I am equipped to treat mild to moderate issues at your home. Severe reactions may require more specialized care at your local veterinary hospital.
Parasite Control
Parasites can cause significant health problems for your pet. Disease caused by parasites can be deadly and in some cases can be passed to us! Not every preventative is right for every animal, so we’ll discuss both conventional and natural products. (Heartworm disease is a significant problem in the Pacific Northwest despite popular opinion!)
Microchipping
Accidents and tragedies occur, so make sure your pet can be connected to you no matter what life brings. Microchipping is a safe, reliable, permanent form of identification that allows vets and shelters to contact you in the unthinkable event your pet becomes lost. It significantly increases the chances of reuniting lost pets with their owners.
Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves inserting thin needles into specific points on your pet’s body to stimulate healing and alleviate pain. This ancient practice can enhance overall well-being, reduce inflammation, and support recovery from various conditions. In addition to dry needling, I provide aquapuncture and electroacupuncture.
Reiki
Reiki is a Japanese energy healing technique for stress reduction, relaxation and to promote healing on physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels. Animals are very sensitive to Reiki: when I first became a practitioner, my coworkers immediately noticed a difference in my animal interactions and how our patients responded to my care.
Palliative & Hospice Care
There sometimes comes a point in a pet’s life when you’re told that conventional medicine has nothing more to offer, or worse, the treatments being offered are invasive and may not be right for your pet. How do you decide? When is it time to let them go? When the time comes, I can be there to help ease your pet over the Rainbow Bridge.
Concierge Service
I’m available after hours and on weekends on a concierge basis, which includes answering text messages and phone calls within 2 hours. This service is $100 month. I can also make after hours house calls, or accompany you to a local vet hospital, for an additional $150/hr. Monthly concierge fees are charged in advance and prorated upon cessation.
Referrals to Other Providers
I am blessed to know colleagues in the area who offer a wide range of treatments that I do not. When needed, I will happily refer you to these trusted professionals. I believe in the power of community, especially within the animal care field. Let’s work together to ensure your pet receives the best possible care.
